Laura Guenther, Chief Crafter at Local Goods Chicago + Design Lead, User Experience at Shure, Inc.

June 15, 2016

I’ve spent the last 25 years designing products and experiences to delight the end user.  My background is in Human Factors Engineering and User Experience Design.  I work full time at Shure on audio related products.

I opened up Local Goods Chicago 4 years ago to help revitalize Edgebrook and to support artists of handcrafted goods.  We now have a second satellite mini store at the Loyola campus.

My family moved to Edgebrook 10 years ago from Lincoln Square so our kids could attend Wildwood School.  We love the community and wanted to add more to the business district. Edgebrook is a great community surrounded by beautiful scenery like the forest preserve, bike paths and parks.

I founded Everyday Edgebrook in 2013 with Noel Buican of Aqua Salon to promote the local business district.

I am looking forward to the farmers market coming to Edgebrook this summer, the Destination Devon Art Walk and more beautification projects in Edgebrook!
